Rodriguez Ranch - Watsonville
The 35-acre Rodriguez Ranch is a true family business. It was started by Roberto Rodriguez and his brother, Manuel, along with the help of their wives and children. Out of the 20 farm employees, 16 are Rodriguez cousins. The Rodriguez brothers have been farming their whole lives, starting in the early 1980's in Mexico growing raspberries and blackberries and continuing in California since 1993. Of the three ranches, one is completely organic, the rest to be transitioned to complete organic by 2010. They grow artichokes, beets, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, corn, leeks, lettuce, onions, potatoes, blackberries, raspberries and strawberries. Rodriguez Ranch is certified organic by California Certified Organic Farmers .
